T4 Variable Surface Tracking (VST) is a different form of tracking that challenges the dog and handler to follow an aged track across concrete, asphalt or any hard surface. The dogs will also encounter grassy areas and must be able to work through both grassy and hard surfaces. VST classes will center around skills needed to train and participate in a VST test.
Any dog that earns a TD or a TDU, as well as a TDX or a VST, will earn the title designation of Champion Tracker (CT). This is the highest title a dog can earn in tracking.
